John Aristotle Phillips, became known as the A-Bomb Kid, when as an undergraduate at Princeton he designed a nuclear weapon using publicly available books/papers. He parlayed his celebrity into a brief career as an anti-nuclear activist and ran for Congress before going on to revolutionize the world of political campaigns with Big Data. Our task was to re-position Aristotle in what had become a crowded, commoditized field. We produced ads that tapped into a world where idealism and cynicism mesh, solidified Aristotle’s leadership position amongst campaign managers and generated massive buzz on K Street.
